Energy Next, taking place at the ICC in Sydney on July 18th – 19th, is just around the corner and is a must-attend for anyone interested in the clean energy space.
Co-located with the Clean Energy Council’s Australian Clean Energy Summit, the events will feature leading voices in the clean energy space, joined by policy makers like Chris Bowen, Minister for Climate Change and Energy and State Energy Ministers, Hon Lily D’Ambrosio, Hon Shane Rattenburg and Hon Penny Sharpe.
Alongside an exhibition floor full of the latest clean energy technologies, Energy Next will also feature policy making and advisory organisations and a high-calibre agenda of talks and panels boasting some of the country’s top clean energy experts.
Energy Next: Clean Energy Council’s Solar Masterclass
The Clean Energy Council’s Solar Masterclass, held as part of Energy Next, has also launched its agenda, kicking off with Amanda Brown, Manager SRES Operations, Clean Energy Regulator and chaired by Director of the Clean Energy Council, Con Hristodoulidis, who will talk about the Clean Energy Regulator’s compliance focus into 2024 and beyond. Safework NSW will also present about the approach to rooftop solar installation.
Panels and presenters at the CEC Solar Masterclass will also present about Premium String Inverters vs. Module Level Power Electronics, the importance of solar system maintenance, EV charging and how it can fit into an existing service offering, battery system installation best practice, an introduction to microgrids and more.

Insights into the current and future renewable energy landscape
The main presentations and panels agenda featured at Energy Next also includes important topics and high-calibre speakers in the Solar and Energy Storage areas, amongst other key clean energy topics such as energy data, microgrids and more. Warwick Johnston, Director, SunWiz, will present insights into all that’s happening in the solar & storage market, along with a prediction for the future during the first talk of Energy Next 2023 – ‘The Latest Update in PV & ESS.’
Thomas Fontaine, CEO, GreatCell Energy, will be giving a talk on ‘Perovskites – The Future of Solar Energy.’ Perovskites have been dubbed ‘the fastest growing technology ever’ but Google says the technology has potential but that there are issues with ‘efficiency’ and ‘longevity’. However, Fontaine and GreatCell believe the technology can be commercialised now by focusing on low-light, indoor applications with shorter life spans.
The Energy Storage panels and talks will include information about future technologies such as compressed air storage (CAES), safety in large-scale battery installations and the challenges facing the energy storage industry and required policy support to hit clean energy targets.
