Australian homes and businesses are about to have a scalable, 5-in-one option available to go solar. Smart Energy Expo 2024 served as an opportunity for Sigenergy to showcase their incredible SigenStor – a compact solution that integrates an inverter, battery storage, battery power conversion system (PCS), EV charger, and energy management system (EMS).
Who is Sigenergy?
Relatively new to the industry, Sigenergy was established in 2022 with a focus on delivering cutting-edge energy solutions to homes and businesses. Their headquarters is home to over 500 employees with 70% of the staff focused on research and development. They now provide their products to over 20 countries, Australia being their latest foray.
What is SigenStor?
A conventional home and business solar installation will see 2 main components installed: solar panels and an inverter. For those looking to store their energy, a separate battery will be installed. If you plan to charge an electric vehicle, you might also opt to install an EV charger. The SigenStor combines the inverter, battery storage, and EV charger and adds battery and power management.
The combination of these important solar components not only allows for easier installation and a smaller footprint but also a seamless and safer system.
One of the most common challenges of adding components of different brands is that they were not specifically manufactured to work together. Homes and businesses might encounter a loss of electricity as power moves from component to component. SigenStor solves this dilemma with each component working symbiotically.
SigenStor specifications
Let’s take a look under the hood. The SigenStor is available with a single-phase (5-10kW) and three-phase (5-25kW) hybrid inverter. The battery is available in 5 and 8kWh capacity and the EV charger is available in 12 and 25kW. The system is modular and can be customised to suit your needs.

Bidirectional charging ready
Thanks to the built-in EMS, the SigenStor is V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) and V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) ready. It is also V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) ready. South Australia is the only Australian state that currently allows bidirectional charging with plans for other Australian states to follow suit later this year. The Sigenstor is presently the only solution that offers V2H and V2G capability in an energy storage system.
AI integration and optimisation
Pushing the boundaries of innovation, the SigenStor platform seamlessly merges AI functionalities, granting users comprehensive system oversight and interactive AI-driven functions, such as an astute service assistant. Sigen AI, fueled by GPT-4, acts as the pinnacle of service intelligence, proficient in tasks like responding to queries and resolving issues, all accessible through the advanced mySigen Application.
A unique solution for an industry in need of innovation
Solar has been around for decades in Australia and technology has improved exponentially since its inception. We are seeing more and more manufacturers providing holistic solutions to the end consumer. Customers are looking for brands that offer all-in-one solutions. Home and business owners want the peace of mind that the components they purchase will work seamlessly and SigenStor offers it all, save for the solar panels. Going solar can be daunting, especially when factoring in battery storage and EV charging. The ability to purchase a module that bundles these together is a positive step forward for the industry.
